Raging Mother Roasts Kids Alive, Blames Husband … What’s New?

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

indiafire

The crime:

Mother roasts two children alive

INDIA: Nirmala twisted the neck of her one-year-old son Munna before throwing him in flames. She killed her daughter Shelly in the same way…

Petrified after seeing the horrendous act, Nirmala’s third kid Divya struggled for her safety and even clawed her mother’s face. The girl raised an alarm and was helped by neighbours.

The confession:

After committing the dastardly act, Nirmala wept inconsolably for her children. She explained that she wanted to destroy her family in a fit of rage.

The scapegoat:

On being interrogated, Nirmala revealed that it was the torturous behaviour of her husband Mansa Ram Chaurasia that provoked her to take this beastly turn.

Say what?

She further informed that Mansa Ram falsely blamed her for having an illicit relationship and that he beat her very often. Not only this he once stripped her and even hit her.

“…even hit her”? Doesn’t that contradict “…he beat her very often”? Maybe she wasn’t interrogated; maybe she was trained.

Just curious, where is the proof he beat her?

See Jane

Gender equity has progressed in many ways, but male characters still dominate television, movies, and other media for young children. Since women and girls make up half of the human race, the presence of a wide variety of female characters in our children’s earliest media is essential for both girls’ and boys’ development.

See Jane seeks to engage professionals and parents in a call to dramatically increase the percentages of female characters — and to reduce gender stereotyping — in media made for children 11 and under. See Jane founder, Academy Award winner Geena Davis, says, “By making it common for our youngest children to see everywhere a balance of active and complex male and female characters, girls and boys will grow up to empathize with and care more about each others’ stories.”

Sunbathing On “Impeach Beach”

Friday, December 29th, 2006

Imagine a day at the beach, a San Francisco Beach to be exact. Imagine showing up with 1199 of your friends to form 100-foot letters stretching 450 feet across the sand. “Now, why would 1200 people do something silly like that?” I’m sure you want to ask.

It’s the Beach Impeach Project. From the website:

On Saturday, January 6, 2007 (just two days after the new US Congress convenes), 1,200 people will gather…and lay their bodies down inside the message’s lettering. At 11 a.m. a helicopter will arrive overhead and photographers will record the 1,200 bodies in the sand — “IMPEACH!?

Here’s a photo of the practice run with the exclamation point filled in.

Do I have a target on my back?

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

From Mens News Daily Do I have a target on my back? Are we being ’silenced’?

I’m going to get a little personal today. Instead of writing about other people in the Fathers’, Men’s, Shared Parenting, Equal Parenting or Family Law Reform Movements, I’m going to share my own thoughts. Something has come to my attention, and it has me feeling unsettled.

I’ve been notified that most of my 50 edits in the last 18 months to wikipedia were “inappropriate.? I’m wondering if this person thinks the link I added is a for-profit site, which it isn’t. My website provides resources for free.

What concerns me most is that this could be happening for political reasons. Why, of all the millions of users, was I picked out? Could it be because I also promote family law reform, mens and fathers rights and shared parenting on my other sites?

Not only have my links been removed, but my articles too. I haven’t been able to find any of my additions. I think I’ve been wiped clean from wikipedia. I’ve been reporting on the fathers movement for 4 years…I think what I have to say is valuable.

In going back to the subjects where I’d left links I see new changes. For instance, under Fathers Rights, it now ends in negative dialogue about the fathers movement. They even took one quote Glenn Sacks did that was negative and added it. Where are the positive quotes by people actually in the movement? This article is now extremely biased against the fathers’ movement.

What about freedom of speech? Don’t they have a policy of being neutral?

I find this all very scary. I have also recently been blacklisted by AOL and Comcast as a spammer…for a website that NEVER emails anyone. Am I being targeted? Are the powers that be this powerful?

Kelly Clarkson Shows Her Bad Side

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

From Reality TV World:

“Kelly Clarkson’s people are pissed,” a source from NRG Studio said, adding that they pressured NRG to take action against YouTube to remove the clip of the vandalism. The clip was banned from YouTube but not until more than 200,000 people had already viewed it.

Here is the new version of the video, called “At The Studio — Kelly Parts,” without Zane. (I had to make sure you all saw it before it’s removed again.)

Pick Me Up Some Milk, Eggs, And A Pack Of Joints

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

From Yahoo News:

Marijuana top U.S. cash crop, policy analyst says

U.S. growers produce nearly $35 billion worth of marijuana annually, making the illegal drug the country’s largest cash crop, bigger than corn and wheat combined, an advocate of medical marijuana use said in a study released on Monday.

The report, conducted by Jon Gettman, a public policy analyst and former head of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, also concluded that five U.S. states produce more than $1 billion worth of marijuana apiece: California, Tennessee, Kentucky, Hawaii and Washington…

“Marijuana has become a pervasive and ineradicable part of the economy of the United States,” he said. “The contribution of this market to the nation’s gross domestic product is overlooked in the debate over effective control.”

“Like all profitable agricultural crops marijuana adds resources and value to the economy,” he added. “The focus of public policy should be how to effectively control this market through regulation and taxation in order to achieve immediate and realistic goals, such as reducing teenage access.”
